In this sequel set a year after the events of "A California Christmas", the Bernet winery in Petaluma, California is a success. Hannah narrates the first few scenes. Some of the wine is produced by stepping on grapes. And people visit for wine tastings outdoors. During one of those wine tastings, property manager Manny is showing his skill as a sommelier, though he has trouble articulating his thoughts, so Callie has to step in. And Joseph, who started as a ranch hand, proposes in front of the group. Back inside the house, Leo, who works for Van Aston Enterprises, invites Callie and Joseph to the gala Joseph's family's company holds each year at Christmas. Callie doesn't want to go. Leo and Manny play a video game in Manny's RV. Callie and Joseph have a romantic moment. The next morning the winery has gotten a big order because of the gala. Leo tells Joseph privately that his mother left during a wellness retreat and is now on an isolated island where she is unlikely to be contacted. Victoria is now in charge of the company but Leo says Joseph should take over permanently. Joseph is willing to come to San Francisco temporarily to deal with any problems, and later he convinces Callie to come with him, since they have not had a vacation in a long time. Brandy, Callie's best friend, has somehow never met Joseph. She is late arriving because she has been busy in college. She is quite excited about Callie's news and hugs Manny. Then Joseph shows up and introduces himself. Callie and Joseph leave in a helicopter. At a fancy hotel in San Francisco, Callie is impressed. Then Tiffany, Gina and Lily show up and flirt with Joseph. Victoria meets Callie and Joseph and says he was very lucky to get the Roosevelt Room for Christmas Eve for his wedding. Callie is shocked because she had no idea when the wedding would actually take place. But Joseph's mother planned everything. Callie is given a dress to put on for an event with Joseph's friends, but it is terrible. When she phones Brandy, she shows Brandy the dress. Callie fixes the dress so it is more her taste and she looks hot. She, Joseph and Victoria get on the elevator. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Brandy is showing signs that she and Manny will end up together. Paparazzi are waiting for Callie and Joseph when they get off the elevator. Victoria says get used to it. In a series of scenes with no audio other than music, Joseph and his friends have their party. Kirk was in Sigma Chi with Joseph and back then, they bet on who would do well with the ladies. Kirk wonders if Joseph is still dating lots of women and is surprised to learn Joseph is now out of circulation. Callie is not happy and goes off by herself. She meets Owen, Liam's brother, who is in charge of the event. They have a conversation. Liam died before he and Callie could get married. When Joseph finds Callie again, he learns Callie and Owen knew each other for a long time. Callie makes a video call to Brandy and learns that in no time, her wedding has become big news. Brandy gets flirty with Manny. Later, they play a video game, and hours pass.'' While drinking coffee, Callie stops at St. Harriette's Mission where Owen is running a soup kitchen. He won't give details, but Owen says the charity has lost a lot of its funding. He changes clothes and joins a woman playing Mary and a donkey to tell the Christmas story to the people there. Callie helps with the donkey's care. Joseph is not happy when he learns Victoria is doing nothing to solve the company's problems. Victoria says she knew Joseph would be able to handle what needed to be done. Harry, the company's CFO, has flown in to say the company is in big trouble and something has to be done. The gala may persuade those who can keep the company running to continue what they are doing. But there is no guarantee. Callie enters the room smelling like a barn. Victoria is disgusted. After learning about the company's problems, Callie suggests a personal touch is the key to saving the company. For example, the suppliers should be contacted individually. Victoria is unwilling to do that but Callie says she and Joseph can. Joseph says his mother was the face of the company. Back at the winery, Hannah is upset that she can't reach Callie after she had an accident (not shown) that meant she got stitches. Callie texts Hannah after realizing she missed calls, but doesn't hear back. Joseph takes Callie to his boat, named Susan after his grandmother. Callie says she likes being in the city and might be willing to spend more time there. She is not happy that Joseph never mentioned Victoria, who was his ex. Then the clothes start coming off. Thanks to Callie, the majority of suppliers are staying with the company but there is much more to do. Callie wants to wear her late mother's wedding dress but a dress has been provided for her and it is expected that she will wear it.
