Layla (the lead Actor) cant quite keep her finger on the pulse of the truth as she untangles herself from the throes of unrequited love, untrustworthy friends, and confusing loneliness in the aftermath of her parents' untimely death. Her tragic circumstances lead her into the questionable care of a psychiatrist, mourning a dissolved relationship with a philandering ex-boyfriend and under the wing of her manipulative Aunt Stella who insists she knows what's best for her. Hoping for the chance to process her heartbreak in the privacy of the family's rural lake home, Layla finds herself in an episode of disquietude when a series of suspicious visits marks the unraveling of her inner world. A strange but charming so-called neighbor, Alexander begins to visit her, providing a much needed source of respite and distraction from the uneasiness clouding her life. Seemingly unaltered by her apparent psychological struggles, Layla grows fond of his mysterious visits and barely questions his even more mysterious origins.
