Achchu Mechchu is the story of a son who aspires to get his mother remarried with his professor at college. Purushottam (Achyuth Rao), the professor is interested in Savitha (Veena Sunder) because 18 years ago he was in love with a woman who resembled her but being the don's sister their love was not accepted resulting in her death.
