A lazy entrepreneur and his broke sidekick sell patriotism by the package to hapless mountain folk, only to find their July Fourth could be ruined by the ultimate American establishment: competition. Jake, a 28-year-old wheeler-dealer who runs his own fireworks stand, is about to realize his dream of having to work for only two weeks per year. However, a giant fireworks tent moves in nearby, undercutting his prices and threatening the laid back way of life Jake has come to know. Meanwhile, his assistant, Peter, has fallen for Amber, the teenager who works at the nearby latte stand. When Peter tells Amber a little white lie that spirals out of control, both Jake and Peter are denied what they so desperately want. —Anonymous
