The nomadic Transhumance, a high value nature farming method, not only contributes to a healthy environment, but also carries incredible tangible heritage. While profit oriented factory farming is based on the cruel exploitation of animals and resources, the nomadic Transhumance, a high value nature farming method, not only contributes to a healthy environment, but also carries incredible tangible heritage. Knowing that factory farming is one of the main causes for climate change, this sustainable way of animal farming is now even more important than ever before. Trashumance is the seasonal migration of nomadic cattle and sheep herders in search of greener pastures in summer and warmer climatic conditions in winter. For over a year we followed the Belenchón family, as they lead their 3,200 animals by foot and on horse across Spain. We learn about a simple life, determined by the rhythm of their animals and get to know humble, mindful people who face an uncertain and dire future.
