Fogg
Dr. Maggie OShea is lead scientist for a high-risk, high-reward university hospital research team developing a treatment designed to give sociopaths emotions, feelings, and most importantly, empathy qualities they completely lack. Matthew Fogg is a genius but he is also a highly rehearsed sociopath who will do anything to satisfy his need to experience, to feel something anything even if through the pain of his victims. In his world, there is only what he wants no one else matters. Maggie crosses paths with Fogg when he is admitted to her hospital after he is apparently mugged. An F-MRI (Functional Magnetic Resonance Image) scan shows that Fogg is a perfect subject for her study. Sparked by the prospect of experiencing emotions and feelings for the first time, and a sociopathic interest in Maggie as his next victim, Fogg agrees to join the study. During her treatment of Fogg, Maggie discovers a link between him and the apparent suicide of Maggies sister. Maggie soon steps well over the line of the doctor-patient relationship in an attempt to determine if Fogg may have actually murdered her sister. She decides to seduce Fogg, if she must, in order to trap him and extract a confession. Meanwhile, Foggs treatment seems to be working and he begins to have real affective emotions for the first time in his life guilt, regret, and compassion (along with strange new feelings of emotional intimacy with Maggie). Fogg is both aroused and confused about Maggies personal interest in him. But Fogg, like all of the other research subjects, begins to have severe headaches, hallucinations, and even worse, return of deep-seated desires to hurt others. The treatment is slowly degrading. One subject snaps and goes on a shooting spree at a local restaurant. And Maggie realizes that her window of opportunity to get what she wants out of Fogg is closing. Maggie lures Fogg to a haunting lakeside retreat that had been used during therapy. Using all of her professional and feminine skills, Maggie manipulates Fogg into a confession and then tries to drown him. But she is no sociopath, no killer she is a physician and at the last moment, she saves Foggs life. For Fogg, thats when the fun begins resuscitated by Maggie after almost drowning, Foggs old sociopathic self returns and the lakeside retreat becomes a venue for his homicidal tendencies. Maggie narrowly escapes and the police descend - but Fogg slips away.
