Kathavarayan sells illicit arrack but is honest at his trade and has a golden heart. Malathy comes to the village as part of her NSS project and pledges to erase the arrack trade in the village. She successfully gets Kathavarayan behind bars; but falling prey to a conspiracy by the mafia she too gets jailed for no fault. Kathavarayan is released and he learns about her intentions, and so he joins her in exposing the drug dealing mafias.
