In British-ruled India, two brothers, one a law-abiding police officer, the other a fiery revolutionary - are torn apart by betrayal and injustice, but must unite to avenge their father's death and free their village from colonial tyranny. In the waning days of British rule in India, Imam Abdul Rahman, a respected village elder and spiritual leader, lives in Sheikhpura with his wife Mumtaz, sons Sartaj and Sultan, and daughter Saira. Imam runs the K.G.N. Darbar and is a beacon of hope for orphans, widows, and the oppressed. But his defiance of British oppression and promotion of Hindu-Muslim unity draws the ire of colonial officer Sir Williams. When a false rape charge is fabricated against him, Abdul Rahman is humiliated and ends his life in despair. Sir Williams seals the Darbar and drives a wedge between the villagers and Abdul Rahman's family. Sartaj, the elder son, joins the police force in Delhi. Sultan, the younger, stays behind and eventually rises as a revolutionary after surviving a brutal attack meant to kill him. Their paths diverge - one upholding the law, the other defying it. As the web of conspiracy unfolds, Sartaj learns of the village's pain and his brother's truth. The two brothers, once divided, reconcile and unite. In a final confrontation, they rally the villagers and revolutionaries to rise against the British. The climax sees both brothers taking revenge, gunning down Sir Williams and reclaiming their father's honor - igniting the spirit of freedom in their people. —Shakil Niyazi
