The film is about two Hong Kong women writers living and working in France and drawing inspiration from the gap between French and Chinese cultures. Chit HA was a traveler who explored the mysterious Tibet and Xinjiang before tourists poured in there. After settling in Hong Kong in 1978, she became a travel column writer who continued to explore the world including the South Pole. Chun-hing was born and raised in Hong Kong and began to write and draw for China Student Weekly from the 1960s. Young Hong Kongers' passion for Western culture urged her to go to Paris, even though she did not know she would start a family there. Chit also moved to France after her son married a French woman, and began to write historical novels about Mongolia in an ancient French castle.
