Receiving no help from the police or judicial system, he finds a clue that leads him to the wealthy Aldama Family, where he meets a famous artist, his celebrity wife and their beautiful daughter. It's not long before he has a job at their home and becomes determined to uncover the secrets beneath the surface. Teacher Paloma Flores, who campaigns for indigenous rights and against a mining company in the central highlands of Mexico, disappears after a rally, along with her companions. Years later, her son Emiliano believes he has found a clue. He gets a job as a caretaker with the Aldama family because he suspects that the bodies of the missing persons are on their exclusive lakeside property. Mónica Aldama is a social media star, and her mother Carmen was once a famous singer. Carmen's current husband Rigoberto, an artist and self-proclaimed "provocateur," has gotten into trouble with a Christian sect that is now persecuting him.
