Naive upper-caste poet Kali is forced to leave his home after he commences an affair with a low-caste woman, and faces challenges thereafter. Upper-caste Brahman, Kali, is asked to leave his home by his step-mother after she finds out that he has been having an affair with a low-caste woman. The duo are unable to find shelter in their community and travel to a distant land that is ruled by a king and his arrogant daughter.
