A sculptor causes discord in a country town after using an unwed mother as his model for a statue honouring the victims of a British concentration camp. Sculptor Dawid Louw is commissioned by the town of Hoffmansdal to create a statue in honour of the women and children who died in a nearby British concentration camp during the Anglo-Boer War. He uses the young, unmarried mother Jeannie Moolman as his model, which enrages the unforgiving community leaders who had been responsible for ostracizing her. Despite threats and intimidation by some of the most influential townspeople, Louw refuses to back down. —Moonkitty
