Policeman Waeckerli in Danger
Police officer Wäckerli faces numerous challenges, both at home and in his professional life. In Oeppenau, police officer Wäckerli has a lot to deal with, both privately and professionally. Not only is he confronted with several cases at once (an automobile accident, the disappearance of an expensive drill, systematic theft in a department store and a murder), but he also finds his own life in danger. —rsbrux Cantonal police officer Gottfried Wäckerli (Schaggi Streuli) has been keeping peace and order in the tranquil village of Oeppenau for many years. He knows the concerns and needs of his fellow citizens, has his heart in the right place, and always knows exactly when to turn a blind eye and when to crack down. His 60th birthday is just around the corner, but he is not particularly looking forward to it. At home, he is at loggerheads with his son Ruedi (René Scheibli), while his wife Hedwig (Margrit Rainer) is constantly at odds with her daughter-in-law Annelies (Fay Kaufmann). Wäckerli is also under pressure at work: an expensive drill has been stolen from a garage owner (Ernst Stiefel), and hip belts and kitchen aprons are disappearing at a rapid pace from the department store owned by Mayor Gasser (Max Knapp). Wäckerli gets to work and almost forgets his birthday. No wonder, because the pretty saleswoman Susy Düggeli (Julia Vonderlinn) has been making eyes at him for some time. She is friends with Alois "Hügü" Vögeli (Jörg Schneider), who is involved in dubious business dealings with his cousin Feusi (Paul Bühlmann). The two are currently expecting to inherit a piece of land from their recently deceased aunt and hope to make a fortune from it. Wäckerli suspects the two of stealing the drill. And then a murder takes place in Oeppenau, and this evil deed brings the Wäckerli family back together again, quite unexpectedly. —SRF
