Project S
A search for the power of good design and the influence of an object on the heart. Project S was the name Citroën used when they secretly worked on a super car, the SM. A fast, comfortable automobile with unique design and technology. Philosopher, poet and artist Robert Opron was primarily responsible for the design and reflects in our film on the creation of the SM and the power of a good design. His unique view on the world can be seen in his work. Talk show host Jay Leno is one of many people impacted by the SM and talks in great depth about his experiences and the role of cars in his life. Other drivers from around the world talk about how their lives have changed since their first contact with the SM. For example, Sylvia Hathaway who is the first woman to pass the 200 miles/hour in a production car and still considers this a life changing moment, or Marlène Wolgensinger-Cotton who, as director "Competition Citroën", has sweet memories of the SM. Historical archive footage of illustrious drivers such as Johan Cruijff illustrate the role of the car in the media and popular culture. This is a documentary about passion for a very special object, for the SM. A movie like no one has ever made about a car.
