Rübezahl - Herr der Berge

Bergriese Rübezahl lives in the Riesengebirge. For 999 years he has not been seen among the people who live in a nearby valley. Bitter about their badness, he doesn't want to have anything to do with them anymore and has therefore retreated into the interior of the mighty mountain. For centuries, Rübezahl has been the lord of the mountains in the Giant Mountains. He has been living in seclusion in his cave for a long time because people have bitterly disappointed him. Then one day he learns that down in the valleys, many injustices are taking place, people are cheating and stealing from each other, and no longer believe that the mountain spirit is still alive. Rübezahl is saddened and horrified by these stories and decides to return to the valleys. There he discovers that people have indeed forgotten him. So he amuses himself by frightening and teaching them through magic and teasing. He rewards the good people and punishes the bad.
