Romantik Komedi
George (Paul Rudd) and Linda (Jennifer Aniston) are an urban married couple who purchase a micro-loft in New York after much hesitation. George wanted to wait till he got his bonus, but Linda was adamant that the opportunity was too good to pass up. Linda had previously dabbled as a children's book illustrator, and then in the ice cream business, but she feels that she had found her niche as a documentary filmmaker. George is expecting a promotion while Linda is trying to sell a documentary to HBO. Soon after purchasing their home, George learns that his company has folded, overnight, while HBO rejects Linda's documentary. HBO executives call the documentary the most depressing thing she has ever seen. The executive says that HBO does violence and heartache, but it has to look sexy on screen and Linda's work simply does not fit the HBO brand. With both out of work, they are forced to sell their apartment at a loss and decide to leave for Atlanta, Georgia to live with George's arrogant brother Rick (Ken Marino) and his wife Marisa (Michaela Watkins) after Rick offers George a job. Rick is always trying to upstage George. When George moved into the micro-lost, Rick made fun of him that Rick's TV room in Atlanta was bigger than George's entire apartment. Rick swears a lot and is overbearing and obnoxious. Linda cannot stand Rick at all and feels sorry for Rick's wife Marisa. After many hours on the highway, Linda demands they stop to rest. The closest place to stop is a bed and breakfast hotel named Elysium. When they turn, they are surprised to see a man walking naked named Wayne Davidson (Joe Lo Truglio). They promptly try to turn back but flip the car over. The nude man, Wayne Davidson, helps them out of the car, and they are forced to stay at the hotel. They meet several colorful guests such as Karen (Kathryn Hahn), Rodney (Jordan Peele) and then go to bed. Kathy (Kerri Kenney-Silver) manages the property and claims to have studied economics in Stockholm. While trying to sleep, they are distracted by noises in the living room. When they go to check, they learn that Elysium is a hippie commune. They meet the various residents of Elysium, including Seth (Justin Theroux), Eva (Malin Akerman), and Elysium's owner Carvin (Alan Alda). Carvin says that he bought the land and the house in 1971 along with 9 other friends. The friends are all dead now, so Carvin is the sole remaining owner of the commune. Seth is the leader of the commune and Eva is his wife. Eva also lived in New York. The commune goes for a skinny dip in the pond behind the house, and George gets into the water and removes his underwear to be completely naked. George and Linda have amazing sex that night in their room. George and Linda spend the night feeling more alive than before. In the morning, everyone helps flip George's car back so they can leave, but Seth urges them to consider staying. George and Linda arrive at Rick's house and find the atmosphere much less soothing. Rick makes fun of George of being homeless and for no being able to pay his mortgage. Rick mistreats George at work & Marisa is shooting down margarita's at 4:30 pm & has a dildo which she invites Linda to use. George eventually reaches breaking point with Rick and takes Linda back to Elysium, where they are welcomed back. George is excited about the simpler lifestyle while Linda is hesitant. They decide to stay and give the place a two-week trial run. After a few days, Linda starts feeling enlightened by the lifestyle while George begins having second thoughts. George and Linda soon learn that 'free love' is strongly encouraged as Seth and Eva want to seduce Linda and George, respectively. Both George and Linda rebuff the notion of free love, and several crazy situations arise during that period, bizarre and otherwise. At the same time, Elysium is targeted by property developers to build a casino on the property, but they are unable to until they have the deed to the land, which Carvin misplaced. When the property developers arrive with bulldozers, Linda scares them off by flashing them and the other residents join her, which gets sensationalized coverage, and halts the proceeding. Linda is lauded as a hero by the commune. The two weeks are up, and George demands that they leave, saying that if they stay, they would have to give in to 'free love'. A child from the commune witnesses the burning of the deed by Seth and the man that wants to build the Casino. Seth tells Linda that he wants to go away from Elysium and that the others can look after themselves. Linda refuses. In the meantime, George realizes he loves Linda and comes back to find her, getting into a fight with Seth while the commune looks on and tries to help 'non-violently'.
