Shutter portrays the unexpected incidents happening over two days in the life of an oversees returned, middle-class family man Jitya Bhau. It is a gripping account of how a moment of weakness traps him with a prostitute in a stuffy, empty shop room right in front of his home and how the ensuing tense moments transform his life for ever. The 24 hours of confinement inside the shutter and the nail biting incidents dramatically alter the personal equations between the two strangers. It is a drama on human predicament that appears delectably funny at times and palpably poignant at others. Sachin Khedekar as Jitya and Sonalee Kulkarni as the nameless hooker takes those moments to incredible heights through their impeccable performances. Also carefully inter-weaved into the plot are the parallel stories of a struggling film director (Prakash Bare) and an innocent auto rickshaw driver (Amey Wagh). The film brings together all these characters whose lives are intertwined for a day - though they don`t fully realize it.
