The Council
Marie Falke films her neighbors on Marienstrasse. Accompanied by one person for sound (she films herself), the filmmaker visits the tobacco seller, the shoemaker, the missionaries of a bible school, the French ballet teacher, the artist, the Indian cook. As long as they have an open door to the street, their portrait is made. The one principle is to film each and everyone only once. In this way, the film displays the freshness of the first encounter and tells of work and aging. —Filmwerk Kalliope
