Newly married to Shahryar, a deranged monarch who murders his brides after the wedding night, Scheherazade manages to keep her head by entertaining her husband with exciting stories. "Gul-Y-Hanar," the first of the thousand and one stories told by Scheherazade, concerns itself with this beautiful Princess, who through a series of mishaps, finds herself at the mercy of a heathen Sultan. The Sultan's son, who had been converted to the God Allah, falls in love with the Princess - and for this both are ordered to be executed when a miracle happens that saves them both from death.
