Israel, 17, a US Citizen from Mexican descent tries to restore his faith after arriving home one day to find out his undocumented dad has been detained and deported by ICE agents. Israel is on the verge of committing suicide several times, but his application to Stanford University holds him back. It isn't until Israel receives a call from his crush, soon to be girlfriend, Judith, inviting him to a date. No matter what Judith's been through, she decides to motivate Israel and push him to his limits in order to succeed after his father's deportation. Days after Israel's father's deportation, Israel's mom receives a call from Mexico notifying them that their father passed away from a heart attack on his process of deportation. The Ceballo's family has not only been separated, but it has been killed. Not only has it been spiritually killed, but it has been physically killed. Israel gives it his best at overcoming his obstacles with his girlfriend Judith, but Israel turns out to be heartbroken after finding out his girlfriend cheated on him, with her best friend. Israel has no option, but to meditate and contemplate everything he's been through. He finally decides to leave everything behind, but it's not when he was starting to move forward that worse was yet to come. He comes home to see her mother being detained by ICE agents.
