Luke is an operations supervisor that received little recognition at his job so he abruptly quits. Separated from his wife of four years for the last two years, and now unemployed, Luke reluctantly gets talked into going out-on-the-town to a club his last night in the city before moving to Dallas for more work opportunity. Sanaade' is a single mother and her only focus is on her son and opening her own private practice. All of her time and energy is sowed into him, her clients, and dejecting the stigmas that come with being a Black woman. She has no time or even a thought of entertaining a romantic relationship. However, the night comes when their lives change... Luke is drunk at the club harassing different women when Sanaade's natural high on life catches his eye. At their first words, they are connected. Sanaade's friends are contrary to her to talk to him as he was a creepy guy in their eyes. She chooses to entertain a long distance relationship anyway... then learns that Luke is married and unemployed. After chatting with her nosy friends and opinionated family, she still decides to invite him to spend the weekend with her. They have an enchanting experience, but it was short lived as she had to be back to work and he had to look for work. Shortly after, Sanaade' receives unexpected news. She has to inform this guy that she's only spend one weekend with, whom is married and jobless, that she is with child. Luckily, Luke is a good guy and moves to Houston to be with the mother of his unborn child. He finds a job he hates and Sanaade's pregnancy has her hormonal and cruel. Their relationship is in tumult. Their daughter is born and things do not get better. They actually get worse. Even in all their chaos, their love is so deep, Luke asks her to marry him. They move to Dallas, get married, and back to reality. Luke busts tables to get through school and take care of his family. Sanaade' stays at home with the children which is not the life she imagined. Mildly contend, she writes a novel and obtains a publicist. Luke's too busy with work and school to spend time with his family and Sanaade' feels stagnant. Unsatisfied, she take a book tour offer and packs herself and the children's bag and moves to Oklahoma. After some time, Luke reaches out professing he wants his family back. Sanaade' quits her book tour, enrolls in school, and moves back to reconcile their relationship. Luke finally has the job he wants and his wife and children are back at home. Yet.... He taking care of the family financially and it takes a toll on him. Once again, their relationship is in shams. In short, their relationship moves fast with the unexpected pregnancy, finical stress, and with no true understanding of one another, they are left questioning if life's better apart.
