TOXIC TUTU is the almost true story of what became of MARK TORGL, the original Melvin the MopBoy from the cult-classic, horror comedy The Toxic Avenger. This mockumentary feature film reveals for the first time ever why MARK TORGL went into public obscurity shortly following the release of the TROMA ENTERTAINMENT classic. The travesty of Torgl, a bonafide cult-film legend, is exacerbated by a series of events that eclipse the real purpose of Mark's celebrated CON appearances to tell the truth behind his thirty-years of absence. During a bizarre and unexpected occurrence at a convention LLOYD KAUFMAN, President of Troma Entertainment, and long time friend and fan of Torgls, is stupefied when Mark is snatched away by abductors seconds before he is about to make an unprecedented industry announcement. The film documents two years of events that unfold from Torgls initial contact with convention promoters, to his first public appearance through that random day of the abduction, to his eventual rescue and return to his fans. The film uses rare interviews of Torgl who speaks candidly about the last thirty-years and for the first time ever about his experience on set of The Toxic Avenger. Narrative reenactments contextualize the story Torgl tells while Monster and horror industry convention footage provide a realistic backdrop for Torgls fans giving them an opportunity to express their views about his absence and the influence Melvin has had on them growing up as teens. Also included, are rare interviews with former Toxic Avenger cast members Dominick Calvitto (Skippy), Sarabel Levinson (Toxies mother), Robert Prichard (Slug) and Gary Schneider (Bozo) to share their insights about what may have caused Torgls absence. But the real story that emerges is hidden in the secret Mark has kept from all of us - the disclosure of which, becomes a pivotal moment in Toxic Tutu and possibly in horror film history. Revised JFN 2-2-15
