Under the Roofs of the City
Asad and his fiance are after renting a house so that they can get marry. They find a house for rent but the old rental Mr. Goldoost who is not able to find a place is not evacuating it. This put them to face him creating many troubles and funny situations. —Ibrahim Asad Dadvand and his wife Shokouh Takavandi have been looking for a house for 9 months and 9 days so they can start their life together. Asad's brother Amin finds a house for them, which is closed with great difficulty in obtaining the necessary money. However, the house is occupied by a tenant named Ali Asghar Goldoost, who lives there with his wife and six children. He is a newspaper seller and even his stall is rented. Since his financial capacity does not allow him to find another house, he refuses to hand over the house through various means until he finally ends up going to the police station. However, Asad's argument with Shokouh, who believes that their wealthy landlady, Mrs. Tajbakhsh, has turned them against Goldoost, leads to the acquaintance and friendship of the two parties, and they come to the conclusion that the landlord's suggestion that they live on the second floor, which has recently been vacated, was a ruse to get Goldoost out. Goldoost goes to Mrs. Tajbakhsh's house to discuss the matter with her, but when she gets there, she finds that creditors are confiscating Tajbakhsh's property for her late husband's debt. She returns, but says nothing to Asad and Shokouh. Asad invites her to the wedding, but on the day of the wedding, instead of coming to the hall, Goldoost sends them the key to the house he has vacated. The bride and groom go after them in their wedding clothes and even go to the South Terminal, thinking that they are on their way to the city, to find them and bring them back, but they are unsuccessful. At the end, we see Goldoost setting up a shed in Halabi Abad on the outskirts of Tehran. —@Filmnegah
